Formula: life ≈ (3800/Qex)5 × (3600/(mc/Aeff)2) × (3792.05/pbar) × 412000 × barrel × coating. Barrel multipliers adjust the Crittendon baseline for steel, rifling, and bore treatment (Melonite/nitride often ~2× per MikeCr; chrome lining trades peak group size for erosion resistance). Heuristic only — rate of fire and cleaning still dominate.
Powder heat values compiled from manufacturer pages (Vihtavuori energy content), published Reload Swiss data, and public relative-heat tables used with the Crittendon model.
